On a per capita basis, Norway probably organize the most festivals in the world, particularly in the summer time. Festivals are held to promote and celebrate everything from fishing, wooden boats, local food, beer, Viking culture, literature and folk dancing. We have music festivals devoted to all types of music ranging from Chamber music to Country & Western. Although some festival venues are indoors, most summer festivals are held outdoors, and often at spectacular locations in the mountains or close to the sea.
In collaboration with our partners we can give you the opportunity to visit the theatre, concert and opera visits during your stay, as well as excursions to cultural landmarks and museums such as the Henrik Ibsen museum, housed in the former home of the celebrated Norwegian playwright (whose statue in front of the National Theatre is depicted) famous for plays such as Hedda Gabler and the Dollhouse.
