Molde

The town of Molde, at the edge of Romsdalsfjord, is known as the “town of roses” due to its breathtaking rose gardens and orchards filled with apple blossoms. This picturesque town is the perfect place from which to explore the natural wonders of the region, such as Trollstigen, Geiranger fjord and the Atlantic Road. Or why not climb up to the famous Varden viewpoint, from which you can see 222 mountain peaks?

In mid-july, the seven-day Molde International Jazz Festival draws musicians and jazz lovers from all over the world. It is the oldest jazz festival in Europe, hosted every year since 1961.

Romsdal Museum

This beautiful museum, which dates from 1912, features original old buildings and interiors from the Romsdal region. You can even walk down a typical “high street” from the pre-war era with beautiful town houses on either side. An exhibition center was added in 2016, which even has a separate “bunad” (Norwegian local costumes) workshop where you can see the skilled artisans at work on a Veøybunad.

Scandic Seilet
Scandic Seilet is an impressive modern hotel, designed to evoke a sailboat setting off to sea. Enjoy an award-winning breakfast with a view of the ocean and exquisite views of Romsdalsalpene mountains from the rooms. The hotel is beautifully situated at the edge of the water, just a stone’s throw away from the town center.
