Richard Klingspor

Born in 1968, Richard is a Swedish native but has made Oslo his home since 2002. He is a Political Science graduate from Stockholm University but has worked with classical singing, social work, crisis management and as a tour guide and music expert for opera groups for many years. These days he combines guide commissions with his work as an agent for classical singers.

And as for our other well-educated driverguides, his initial professional driving experience began as a way to fund his university studies

Richard’s main interests are within the field of culture: Norwegian art (especially Munch and Vigeland) and classical music. He is an expert on opera in general and the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in particular. Design, architecture and Oslo’s history from 1814 are additional interests.

“Most visitors are surprised when they realise the the extent and variety of cultural experiences the young nation of Norway can provide. Personally, I’m excited by our great opera house in Oslo, as well as by all the concerts and festivals around Norway. Great landscape combined with great culture beats all!”

Richard’s qualifications:

  • Political Science graduate and formal training in crisis management
  • Authorized tourist guide
  • Driving license for trucks and buses
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC – for driving buses with passengers as a profession)
